The Connecticut Sun hosted the Los Angeles Sparks in their first 2018 WNBA preseason game held at Mohegan Sun Arena. The Sun were victorious over the Sparks on a last-second 3-point shot by Sun guard Rachel Banham. Final score Sun 68, Sparks 65.
Jasmine Thomas scored 12 points, while Chiney Ogwumike and Betnijah Laney each had 10 points for the Sun. Shakayla Thomas had 17 points followed by Cappie Pondexter and Karlie Samuelson each having 14 points for the Sparks.
The Sun will play the Dallas Wings on Tuesday, May 8th for their second preseason game. On Friday, May 11th they’ll play the Atlanta Dream at Webster Bank Arena in Bridgeport, CT for their final preseason game.
